In this podcast Larry Helwig and Dr. Ann dive into the controversial subject of vaginal rejuvenation. Recently, this aesthetic treatment has had issues with the FDA. What happened is the FDA became concerned that certain companies were selling equipment to perform procedures that did not have enough evidence-based studies to back their claims. The FDA was concerned that women would be injured with these procedures without a guaranteed outcome.

Although the FDA’s concerns are valid, the real issue here is no one is taking about vaginal rejuvenation in women’s health. Women are afraid to talk about their issues regarding vaginal health. And, for the most part, women just assume it’s normal to feel bad, and that is just the way life is. WRONG. If you didn’t get it the first time, WRONG. 70-80% of women at some point are suffering through painful intercourse. Why? It doesn’t have to be this way. And, men do not know this is happening. Nor do they want their partner to be “suffering” through it. This does not build a healthy intimate relationship. Vagina should not be a bad word. Women should not be afraid to talk to their doctors about vaginal health or seek options for their issues. Men are not afraid to seek help (aka Viagra), so why are women? And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Most women are uncomfortable with this part of their body, even though it is part of their body.

In this podcast, Larry and Dr. Ann will discuss some important issues surrounding women’s health, and why vaginal rejuvenation can be an important treatment for most women to improve their health and their intimate relationships. There are certain safety issues that surround these treatments, but hey will discuss how women can find qualified practitioners who can treat them safely.
