Stephen P. Beals

Paradise Valley Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Beals graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1978 and completed a General Surgery Residency at Beaumont Hospital in Detroit, MI. In pursuit of specialized training, he completed the Phoenix Plastic surgery Residency in Phoenix, AZ, which included reconstructive and cosmetic techniques, followed by a Craniomaxillofacial Fellowship at the University of Toronto, Hospital for Sick Children. He has been in private practice since 1986 and has founded the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona and the Barrow Children’s Cleft and Craniofacial Center (previously Southwest Craniofacial Center) where he is currently the Director. He has also developed the Heads Up Baby educational material.
Dr. Beals was certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery in 1986 and the American Board of Surgery in 1984. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic surgery, the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery (founding member), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the American Association of Plastic surgery, and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery.
In addition to being a Cosmetic Surgeon in Phoenix he is involved in teaching, research and publication. He is an Associate Professor of Plastic surgery at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Arizona State University. He spent much of his childhood in Africa as the son of missionaries and has participated in overseas medical missions in countries such as Bangladesh, Mexico, and Vietnam. Dr. Beals has consistently appeared in the Phoenix Top Docs magazine and among the Best Doctors in America, and has received accolades for his service to the community.
When he’s not practicing cosmetic surgery in Scottsdale, Dr. Beals enjoys outdoor retreats, sporting events and activities, music, art, experimenting with new gadgets, and spending quality time with his wife, Martha, and three grown daughters.
Terry R. Maffi

Dr. Terry. R. Maffi is a highly qualified Scottsdale plastic surgeon who offers a comprehensive list of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures at his leading-edge, full-service, private practice. With years of advanced training, experience and passion for his work, Dr. Maffi consistently delivers safe and outstanding surgical outcomes. Dr. Maffi’s goal is to deliver a full range of premium cosmetic care to all of his patients in a comfortable and private environment where patient satisfaction is of utmost importance. In recognition of his accomplishments, Dr. Maffi has been named a “Top Doctor” by Phoenix Magazine and has received the Patients’ Choice Award five years in a row. Dr. Maffi has also been voted to the “Guide to America’s Top Plastic Surgeons” each year since 2008.
Dr. Maffi completed his plastic surgery training at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Upon finishing his plastic surgery fellowship, Dr. Maffi was fortunate to train with internationally recognized plastic surgeon Dr. Jack Friedland, during which time he received extensive training in aesthetic facial rejuvenation surgery. This experience, combined with his training at the Mayo Clinic, has allowed Dr. Maffi to gain expertise in all aspects of aesthetic plastic surgery with a special emphasis on facial rejuvenation.
As an adjunct faculty member for both the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and Mayo Clinic Arizona, Dr. Maffi enjoys training plastic surgery residents in both aesthetic plastic surgery and complex facial reconstruction. He speaks nationally pertaining to various plastic surgery topics and is routinely asked to train other physicians. Dr. Maffi is an instructor in plastic surgery at The Mayo Clinic College of Medicine as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and in the Division of Clinical Education at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Maffi also specializes in advanced techniques for laser resurfacing and aesthetic injections and travels across the nation giving seminars and workshops to train other physicians and health care providers on aesthetic injections. His work has been published in numerous national medical journals.
Dr. Maffi is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is the founding president of the Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Maffi has been in private practice for nearly 10 years.
Dr. Maffi has a special interest in caring for those who are less fortunate. He has devoted time to working with the indigent at the county hospital in Phoenix and he has traveled to underdeveloped countries, performing reconstructive surgery to address congenital defects, such as cleft lip and palate deformities.
In his free time, Dr. Maffi enjoys his wonderful family. His wife is a board certified gynecologist at Mayo Clinic Arizona. The two have been together for more than 20 years and they have supported each other through college, medical school and residency. The Maffis have two young children and they cherish their time together, whether at home, around town or traveling abroad.
Dr. Kristine Romine

Dr. Romine handles all skin problems ranging from the most common such as acne, warts, psoriasis, and eczema, to the most unusual skin disorders. She also performs surgical procedures, including the removal of moles, warts and other skin tumors and growths. Her surgical procedures include freezing (cryosurgery) as well as the typical excision of lesions. Patch testing is performed for suspected contact dermatitis. Dr. Romine’s practice is dedicated to patient education and she and her staff thoroughly explain each diagnosis. A recommendation is presented along with all of the risks and alternative treatment options. Educational resources such as pamphlets, brochures and DVD’s are provided. Dr. Romine encourages your questions and concerns and assures you they will be answered with candor and compassion.
