Female Genitourinary Dysfunction (FGD)
Female Genitourinary Dysfunction is a condition that will affect 90% of all women at some time in their lives. Many changes occur, some due to childbirth, others due to hormonal imbalances, peri-menopause and menopause, chronic inflammatory changes and other gynecologic conditions.
These changes are collectively referred to as Female Genitourinary Dysfunction (FGD), and are focused on the lower (outer) third of the vagina. Symptoms of FGD may include vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, reduced sensation during intercourse, inability to achieve orgasm and stress urinary incontinence.
In addition, visible cosmetic changes may become noticeable including laxity of the mons pubis, relaxation and gaping of the vaginal entrance, loss of elasticity and a loss of labial structure and tone.
Dr. Ann Watwood and the staff of ClearSkin Institute have been applying Feminine Rejuvenation techniques, treating these issues with hormone therapy, radio frequency and lasers for many years. With the increased demand, we are proud to announce that William E. Shuell, M.D., Board Certified in both OB/GYN and Cosmetic Surgery, has joined our team. Dr. Shuell is not only a specialist in feminine rejuvenation, but is also renowned for his artistic body contouring utilizing the latest techniques of liposuction and fat transfer.
